Our Story
Taco Ole Mission is a family-style Mexican restaurant in Mission, Texas, in the heart of the Rio Grande Valley. Nothing here is fancy, and that’s the point. What we care about is that the food tastes like it should, the portions are generous, and nobody rushes you out the door.
The dish we’re known for is the botana — the Rio Grande Valley’s own shared platter. It starts with a bed of crispy tortilla chips, then sizzling fajita meat cooked with peppers and onions, refried beans, a blanket of melted cheese, and rice, guacamole, pico de gallo, sour cream and jalapeños around the edges, with warm tortillas on the side. It’s ordered in sizes for one, two, three or four people — plus a seafood botana — and it lands in the middle of the table like a main event.
Breakfast is the other half of who we are. Our kitchen opens at 6:00 AM every day with breakfast tacos, huevos rancheros and hot coffee for the early crowd, then serves all day: fajitas that arrive at the table still sizzling, enchiladas under real chile sauce, and the Poquito de Todo for guests who want a little bit of everything.
Our tables fill with regulars who know their order by heart, families celebrating something big or nothing at all, Winter Texans spending the season in the Valley, and folks just passing through Mission, McAllen or Pharr. Whoever you are, there’s a table here with your name on it.

What We’re Known For
Four plates tell most of our story — start with any of them and you’ll understand the place.
Botana Platters
The Valley’s signature platter, built for the table to share: fajita meat over crispy chips with beans, melted cheese, rice and guacamole. Sizes for one, two, three or four people, plus a seafood botana.
Taco Ole Platter
Our namesake, and the plate we recommend on a first visit: a spread of the kitchen’s favorites on one tray, for the person who wants a little of everything and refuses to choose.
Poquito de Todo
The name means “a little bit of everything,” and the plate delivers exactly that — a sampling across the menu on a single platter. The order that ends the tacos-versus-enchiladas debate.
Breakfast Tacos
The Valley’s official morning food: eggs with chorizo, bacon, ham, potatoes, or beans and cheese in a warm tortilla — from a kitchen that opens at 6:00 AM every single day.
Fresh, Made Daily
Our kitchen works with fresh ingredients and prepares our food in-house daily — tortillas served warm, plates built to order.
It’s family-style cooking with family-style service: generous portions, honest working-family prices, and a welcome that treats you like a regular from your first visit.
